oops. sorry.

I meant to update last week, I swear.

Birdie gained back the weight she lost.  And then some.  So, YAY.

I'm not going to go all into what we did to get her there right now because honestly, I'm a little tired of talking about it, hearing opinions, listening to suggestions, etc.  No one has done anything wrong, I'm just a little burned out.

The ped did say that failure to thrive is fairly rare in breastfed babies Birdie's age.  This didn't make me feel better or worse.  We're still watching her and she still has to go for weight checks, but the situation is much less alarming/dire/panic-inducing.

Yay! Great news! Looks like maybe you got what you asked for-- identifiable, easy-to-solve problem. Fingers crossed things keep going this way.

Awesome job, Mom! I know you worked hard for this good news in the weight-gain department. :)

I meant to comment last week - one of my triplets was failure to thrive and it was an agonizing few months where I had one gastroenterologist telling me I shouldn't breastfeed at all and me in tears with my pediatrician who supported my decision to ignore that "advice" and it was just horrible. But we did get her to gain weight and she's healthy and perfect now and you will get through it. My pediatrician was absolutely adamant that I internalize the fact that "failure to thrive is NOT failure to nurture" immediately. I hope you've been able to do the same.

*many hugs*
