something I'm looking forward to (other than the obvious)

I really, really want to wear my wedding & engagement rings again. I haven't been able to for nearly half of this pregnancy (yep, they came off in the 20s somewhere. I didn't note it at the time because it depressed me. And I had not-at-all-dainty hands before this adventure!)

At first, it really bothered me. Then I sort of accepted it. Still, I get this occasional pang of sadness about it and I really want them back on. I miss holding P's hand and having him adjust my rings for me because the diamond is poking him. I miss just looking at them and remembering. And it bums me out to see them sitting in a dish on my dresser.

My MIL didn't take hers off in time when she was pregnant and had to have then cut off. Now she and FIL don't wear rings. I'm not usually so into symbols, and I know they're just "things" but I don't want that to be me.

So, if you had to take yours off, and you never were able to put them back on (or needed them resized) please, please don't tell me. I'd rather be under the illusion that at some point I'll be able to cram my sausages back into their platinum decorations.

I feel naked without my wedding ring on so I can totally relate to the sadness you speak of here. Soon your hands will be back to their normal state and ready to be bejeweled once again. Bejeweled and holding your daughter ;-) Wow.

I totally feel your pain. I had to take mine off sometime in the 20s too. I know that the rings are just "a thing" but they hold an important meaning for me. And they signify to the world that I'm "taken". I like that.

I am hopeful we will both be able to wear our rings again soon -- while holding our "bundles of joy!"

i also had to take mine off pretty early on in the pregnancy, but i temporarily replaced them with one made of pave Swarovkski crystals and now sometimes i miss being able to wear that one. ;-)

i wasn't able to put them back on until i was within about five pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight, but they're spinning around on my fingers now, so there's hope!

oh and worst possible case is that you get them stretched a little. i doubt that you'll need to do that but it kind of takes the pressure off knowing that's an option!

Hey, first-time reader here...

I had to take off my rings a few weeks ago. It bummed me out to be walking around bare-handed, so I went to a costume jewellery store. For all of $30 I was able to buy a silver band and a silver ring with a single stone (looks like a diamond, sure as heck ain't a diamond). They look really authentic (people keep commenting on how cool it is that I can still wear my rings) and I feel good wearing something.

hope that helped!

I have been wearing mine again for 2 days. They're a little tight, but I couldn't wait any longer. I'm sure yours will be on very soon.

I had days where I couldn't wear mine, though my fingers never got anywhere near as swollen as my feet.

I hated not wearing it at the hospital when I delivered because my last name is different than my husband's and baby's, and I felt I looked like a poor little unmarried mama.

It is back on, now, though, so never fear. you will shrink. I can even wear all of my old shoes, too.

This was posted Sunday and it's now Thursday ... Where are you??? :) I hope I'm right when I guess that you're getting acquainted with your daughter!! If I'm wrong then please accept my apology for being another person in your life fishing for baby news. You know it's just cuz I'm excited for you, right?!
